the appointment of H.E. HamadAl Mansoori as director gen-
eral of the UAE’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority
(TRA), the country’s telecommunications sector enters a new arena that
commensurates with the aspirations of advancement and orchestrates
with the goals of the UAE Vision 2021 national agenda launched by His
Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and
Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Al Mansoori’s appointment corresponds to the drive towards a competi-
tive, highly productive knowledge economy that is based on innovative
thinking, unconventional solutions, smart programs, advanced technology
and sustainable development.
Al Mansoori will undertake massive responsibilities embodied in realizing
the aspirations of the country’s prudent leadership that strives to achieve
the number one rank worldwide in terms of the quality and integration of
infrastructure and enhancement of telecommunications efficiency, render-
ing the UAE a pioneer among countries that offer smart services around
the world.
No doubt, H.E. Hamad Al Mansoori is qualified enough to lead the tele-
communications sector and boost its competitiveness through supporting
the regulatory environment of information technology, setting up the infra-
structure network and exploiting innovative talents in such a way to ensure
welfare, progress and prosperity to the nation now and in the future.
Al Mansoori faces critical challenges based on the great objectives we
are in quest to achieve whilst working on implementing the mGovernment
initiative in order to elevate the level of offered services and adopting in-
novation and creativity as a foundation for a promising future, fully aware
of people’s requirements. We are confident that Al Mansoori will be up to
such responsibility and challenges.
Undoubtedly, Al Mansoori’s varied expertise and professional experience
enabled him to gain the trust of the President His Highness Sheikh Khal-
ifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, hence he will dedicate his efforts to instill the
country’s leading status on the global excellence index among the world’s
most advanced countries. He will definitely make every effort to transform
the ICT sector in the UAE into a key engine for progress, development,
knowledge economy and information society.

in the UAE, topped by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa appointing him as
director general of TRA.
